Tasteback is a movement

We’re challenging the food industry one taste at a time.

Here is what matters

You vote every time you shop, and with knowledge comes the ability to support the people, the planet and animals.

Tasteback is a movement

Here is what matters

You vote every time you shop, and with knowledge comes the ability to support the people, the planet and animals.
You engage in a sustainable creation of food

We define a sustainable food system as one in which the fertility of our soil is maintained; the availability and quality of water are preserved and our biodiversity is protected. By shopping from small-scale producers you have the power to safeguard sustainable practices which also avoid artificial fertilisers and genetically modified organism. This is so beneficial to biodiversity and the environment and offers a long-term investment in soil fertility for future generations.

You support a fair income to food producers

Buying directly from small-scale producers guarantees that farmers and other food makers receive a fair and equitable share of the benefits derived from their work. The contribution that each of us can make, helps our community of sellers to turn their ideas into successful businesses and create local jobs. By selling all their production, small-scale producers can make a living without needing to farm intensively or grow bigger. After all, they can thrive because they are powered by you.

You help improve working conditions

Empowering small-scale producers ensures they can implement higher standards of working conditions for all their employees. Through the income they gain, food producers are able to support their workers paying them a fair wage, keep the highest standards of health & safety and invest back into their business by buying better equipment and building a better and safer workplace.

You’re supporting the humane treatment of animals

Do you believe that all animals have a right to live in the open? Well, we do too. Just like humans, animals need access to good food and fresh water, a good quality habitat and secure living conditions, without fear or discomfort. They shouldn’t be kept in cages or crowded together in pens. They must be able to go outside, move around as they please and eat a natural diet.

Cutting out food waste

From the field to your door TasteBack was designed with cutting food waste in mind. Producers crop or make the products based on orders they receive from you. Our approach to food waste is simple, the fresh food that reaches our hub comes straight to you. We don’t create waste as the goods are not kept in warehouses or shelves.

Recyclable packaging to the core

Packaging is usually a massive issue in the production & selling of food, so TasteBack’s aim from the very beginning was to remove all non recyclable packaging. The products are transported and stored in reusable thermal crates which minimises the need of packaging, and when packaging is required it is always 100% recyclable.
